So, the Bullfrogs get the top seed in the lower bracket... the website was in error and placed the Rockhounds higher, but hey, glitches occur!
Play-offs begin THIS WEEKEND!!! The Bullfrogs host the Hondos at 12:30pm in Pueblo at Central HS field.
The Rockhounds, those who woke up early enough today to notice the GLITCH were probably all excited to see themselves placed higher than the boys in green and orange, BUT in the head-to-head match up between the Rockhounds and the Bullfrogs, the good guys not only beat them 2-1 in games, but also in run differential 25-7!!! So, the glitch has been fixed and the Bullfrogs get the #1 seed.
On the season, we have some highlights...
Justin Smith threw 65 innings and accumulated 106 Ks on the season. Jacob Hollman threw 76 innings getting 92 batters to fan out.
Dan Smith hit .407 on the season with 15 singles, 6 doubles, 2 triples, and a homer! Dan also hit in 19 runners... he led the Bullfrogs in EVERY offensive stat except for RBIs which Justin Smith earned 20 RBIs... Dan also crossed the plate 20 times. Jim Bishop, who started off slowly, wound up with a .371 average in the lead-off spot and scored 16 times.
Over-all, the Bullfrogs played very well as a team, and with the exception of some lackadaisical games vs... oh, the SHARKS... and 43% of their total runs surrendered being unearned,.. then the Bullfrogs end up a much higher ranked team! In fact, the Bullfrogs have beaten 3 of the top 6 ranked teams during the regular season. Most of the top ranked teams can't even claim that accomplishment. It's something to be proud of, and indicative of the potential this Bullfrog team has!
Go Bullfrogs!!!
