BULLFROGS POST SEASON

Bullfrogs win round one!

JD Campbell got the start, but didn't complete 5 innings, so by Major League rules, he gets no decision.  Coming into the game with a pretty decent lead, Justin Smith gets the win!  Its his first win with the Bullfrogs and its about time considering his great pitching all season without a "W" on the books!

Pitching:

Campbell:  60 pitches thrown in 4 innings.
                 7 BB, 0 K, 4 R, 2 Earned, 4.5 ERA

Smith, J:   86 pitches thrown in 5 innings.
                2 BB, 9 K, 5 R, 2 Earned, 3.6 ERA

Hitting:

Arango: 2/5, R, K

Smith, D: 2/4, 2B, R, K, BB, SB, RBI

Smith, J: 2/4, 2R, HBP, SB, RBI

Earing: 0/2, 2BB

Weliver: 3/4, 3B, R, SB, RBI

Allen: 1/3, FC, R, 2K, RBI

Brown: 0/3, R, K, BB

Lindner: 0/3, R, K, BB, SB

Wilson: 2/4, 2B, R, K, 2RBI

Mendoza: 2/4, 2B, 2R, RBI

Campbell: 2/3, 2R, BB, SB, 2RBI

"This is the most somber victory ever!" said Campbell after the game.  Maybe because the Bullfrogs usually play much more dramatically... maybe because they established a lead early and maintained... maybe because it was hotter than hades in Pueblo.  To play a game in the lead in this league and maintain poise takes a LOT of concentration!  Maybe the Bullfrogs were worn out physically AND mentally.  Who knows, but what we know is that the Bullfrogs won a big game!

The Bullfrogs will face the Charros, who lost to the Demons by a margin of one, on Sunday in Pueblo.  The Charros will be looking for redemption, where as the Bullfrogs will be riding the orange momentum train.  It should be a good game considering in the regular season, the Charros and the Bullfrogs split.

Sunday Aug 9th: Bullfrogs AT Charros, Pueblo, 12:30 game time.

Go Bullfrogs!
