NABA PLAYER DRAFT/TRYOUT INFORMATION

WHAT:

 

The NABA is holding a player draft/tryout for all players interested in playing baseball in the Denver NABA. Any player not currently on a team that would like to play needs to come to the player draft/tryout. You will be placed on a team that day.

 

WHEN:

 

Sunday, February 21, 2010.

 

All age groups will go from 6pm- 930pm. All players need to register at 530pm.

 

Please make sure you show up 30 minutes prior to start times to register and sign in. We will start all age groups at 6pm.

 

WHERE:

 

Slammers Baseball- 1878 S. Wadsworth Blvd, Lakewood, CO 80232. NE corner of Wadsworth & Jewel.

 

THE PROCESS:

 

Show up to register about 30 minute before the tryout starts. Each player will need to submit a $10 tryout fee and will be required to fill out a waiver. You will be asked if you prefer to swing wood bat or aluminum. This will help us get you in the correct division. (We offer aluminum or wood in each age group except for the 35 and 45 those are only wood bat.) You will be given a number that will get placed on your chest. This will help the managers know who you are.  All players will be directed to one side of the field to stretch and play catch to get ready for the player draft/tryout.  Players will not be allowed to speak with any managers during the tryout.

 

Each player will get 3 ground balls at S.S. throwing to 1st base, 10 swings off a pitching machine, and about 10-15 pitches if you are a pitcher. We will also let catchers throw down to 2nd base.

 

After all drills are completed the managers will get together and the draft will take place. As the managers complete their picks they will come over and call out the numbers of all players they are picking up.

YOU WILL BE PLACED ON A TEAM THAT DAY!!

 

Sometimes based on manager needs there may be some players left over that still need a team. If this does happen we will form a team out of you. We have done this the last few years.
