| | Francisco Mendoza took the mound for the River Rats on opening day with an impressive start and pitched 6 strong innings striking out 10 batters and allowing just 1 hit with 2 unearned runs. Jonathan Jose came out of the bullpen in relief in the 7th inning and also pitched 3 strong innings with 5K's, giving up 1 hit and no runs allowed. On the offense the River Rats newly acquired catcher Ryan Brown went 2 for 3 with 1 RBI and 1 run scored, with a solid performance behind the plate.
Key contributors to the offense also were Joan Heredia who went 2 for 4 with an RBI and 1 run scored, and Jose Ortega who went 2 for 4 with a run scored.

| River Rats beat Logan Lions 6-3 on 5/4/08 | The Schuylkill River Rats offense was ignited by an MVP performance at the plate from Jose Ortega who went 3 for 3, with a 2 run homer, 2 runs scored and 4 RBI's.
Francisco Mendoza once again took the mound for the River Rats with an impressive start pitching 6 strong innings and allowing only 3 runs.

| River Rats beat SJ Pirates 13-1 on 5/18/08 | Francisco Mendoza once again took the mound and pitched a stellar game for the River Rats. Tomas earned the victory pitching an impressive no-hitter through 7 innings, striking out a season high 15 batters, and allowed 1 unearned run.
The River Rats offense was once again fired by Jose Ortega who went 3 for 4, with a Home Run, 2 runs scored and 4 RBI’s.
Other offensive contributions were Joan Heredia who hit a Home Run and drove in 2 runs, and Willie Ureña who went 2 for 3 with 3 runs scored.

| River Rats beat Westville Warriors 7-3 on 6/1/08 | The River Rats ace Francisco Mendoza started the game and pitched 6 strong innings allowing 3 runs, and striking out 6 batters.
Wilson Duran came out in relief in the 7th and was “lights out” pitching 3 innings, striking out 3 batters, and gave up just 1 hit.
The River Rats offense was led by Jay Jimenez who went 3 for 4 with a double, an RBI and 2 runs scored and Willie Ureña who went 2 for 4 with a triple, and 3 runs scored.
