Q: What age groups do you offer?

The Tri-State NABA consists of four separate leagues; 18, 25, and 35. The number of teams, and the number of divisions within a league, changes from year to year. The league tries to group the divisions so that the teams are as evenly matched from a competitive standpoint as is possible.

Q: How old do you have to be to play in the 18A, 25A, or 35A league?

Players must be at least 18, 25, or 35 years of age at ANY time during a season’s calendar year.

Q: How much does it cost to register?

Individual player registration for 2009 is $70.

Q: How do I get on a team?

Fill out the registration form at the
NABA National website, contact one of the Tri-State NABA league representatives (see contact info above), or visit our Tri-State Team Directory pages and contact one of the teams directly.

Q: Can I enter a new team in the league?

Yes. New teams are always welcome. Contact one of the Tri-State NABA league representatives (see contact info above).

Q: Where are games played?

Games are throughout the Philadelphia and South Jersey area. Visit the the
Field Locations page for a listing of all fields used by the league.

Q: How many games do you play in the 18AA and 18A leagues?

Teams play a 20 game regular season followed by best of three playoff series rounds.


Teams play on Sunday afternoons. Games can start either at 1:00 or 2:00 pm depending on the field.

Q: How many games do you play in the 25A and 35A leagues?

The regular season is 16 games, followed by best of three playoff series rounds.

Q: What days and times are the games in the 25A and 35A leagues?

Teams play on Sunday mornings. Games start 9:00 am.

Q: When does the season begin?

All leagues begin in early April.

Q: When does the season end?

The regular season typically ends around Labor Day. The playoffs usually conclude mid- to late-September depending on the weather.

Q: Do you play doubleheaders?

Teams in the 18 leagues play a number of doubleheaders each year. The 25A league teams play two doubleheaders per season.

Q: Do you play 7 inning or 9 inning games?

All single games are 9 innings and all doubleheader games are 7 innings.

Q: What types of bats are used in the league?

Only wood bats, bamboo bats and composite wood bats are allowed.

Q: What types of footwear are used in the league?

Metal or plastic spikes are allowed.

Q: Do you have All-Star Games?

Yes. In 2007 the 18AA, 18A, and 28A All-Star games were played at the
Bernie Robbins Sandcastle stadium in Atlantic City, NJ, home of the Atlantic City Surf of the professional Independent CAN/AM league.

Q: Do you have a Fall League?

Yes. We have an all ages Fall league that runs from mid-September to the end of October. Sunday morning doubleheaders with 10:00 am start times. 10 regular season games with Playoffs to follow. Playoffs are played on both Saturday's and Sunday's.

Q: Are there Tournaments to play in?

Yes. The league hosts the
Atlantic City Tournament over Memorial Day weekend and participates in various tournaments throughtout the year in such places as Cooperstown, NY, Las Vegas, NV, Jupiter, FL, and Phoenix, AZ. See the NABA National Tournament page for more details.
