Pat Davidson spoke with a former friend of his who is in the process of securing a field in Haddon Twp., NJ.  Todd Green, Davidson's former football coach, is in intense negotiation with the Athletic Director of Haddon Twp. High School.  Green said that the outcome looks promising.  Haddon Twp. would love to field the 2008 NABA TriState Champs.  We'll see what happens.

Dodgers Ink Former College Standout
Dan Carson played baseball at Rutgers University.  Dan Carson pitched for Rutgers University. So what?  Dan is the first college pitcher we have signed so watch out. Dan is currently undergoing intensive shoulder therapy for a rotator cuff injury sustained while playing softball.  That's right, softball.  However, if Dan gets the okay from the doc, you will see him on the hill leading the Dodgers to victory.

Courtney and Davidson Get the Dodgers off the Ground
Joe Courtney and Pat Davidson had a dream.  The two men wanted their own baseball team.  Last year, they had the opportunity to play for Gloucester County Baseball and reclaimed their love for the game.
Talks began at the end of last season.  The two men threw around the idea of starting their own squad.  In January, calls came in from other GMs about the possibility of Courtney joining another squad.  The ball started to roll when Courtney notified Davidson that he was going to play elsewhere if Davidson didn't start the Dodgers.
That's all Davidson needed to hear.  That day, Davidson began recruiting friends and family.  "Joe really motivated me to get this thing done," Davidson said from his Oaklyn, NJ home.  "Joe and I have been friends for a few years now and I was excited about having the opportunity to start a team with him."
The Dodgers are a young team but have some promising young stars and are hoping to accomplish a lot in their first season.

Dodgers Hold Promising First Practice!
Wow! The Dodgers are for real.  The Dodgers team is motivated and talented.  Eight of the fourteen players showed up on a blustery March 1 to take part in the new era of Dodgers Baseball.  The middle infield looked very promising with young stars Matt West and counterpart Matt Murray turning double plays like Juan Samuel and Steve Jeltz.
Need pitching?
The Dodgers have an impressive showing of fire power. Most impressive were the arms of returning starter Joseph Courtney and newcomers Kevin Blizzy Blair,  Brad Morris, and Dan Carson.  We're not done yet! The Dodgers are going to be testing the arm of promising star Scott Yeager and just inked a lefty power house.
Matt Murphy displayed early signs of the hustle he is most famous for while chasing down fly balls and scooping low throws at first.
The Dodgers are a team to watch this year.

Crafty Duo Lock Down Field
Thanks to Sean Carmack and Scott Yeager, the Cherry Hill Dodgers will be playing their home games at Camden Catholic High School.  The Home of the Fighting Irish has made arrangements to allow the Dodgers use of their facilities.  Dodger teammates Yeager and Carmack played their high school ball at Camden Catholic and are now members of the coaching staff of the Fighting Irish.  Dodger manager Pat Davidson couldn't have been more thrilled with the acquisiton.  "It's huge!  For a while, I thought we weren't going to have a field to call home.  Sean and Scott came up big." The field is silent for now, but by mid-spring, expect to hear the sweet sound of pounding leather and cracking wood.

Bats, Defense Impressive
The Dodgers started the Spring Training season off with a 19-6 victory over the Devil Rays on Sunday.  Kevin "Bliz" Blair was impressive in his first game with the Dodgers.  Kevin had 6 RBIs including a Grand Slam Home Run and a triple.  He also looked great on the mound going one inning and giving up one run.
Sean Carmack showed his baseball smarts on both defense and at the plate.  Sean laid down a picture perfect sacrifice bunt and reached on a throwing error.  He followed that up with a smart defensive play later in the game.  Involved in a run down between first and second, Sean kept his eye on the man at third.  When he broke Sean ran at him and started another run down which resulted in an out.
Matt Murray showed savvy defensive play and a quick bat.  Matt looked smooth in the field and displayed a sweet swing at the plate.  Matt smoked a double in the fifth inning that drove in a couple of runs.
Scott Yeager fired heat that resulted in a scoreless seventh inning.
Joe Courtney pitched two shutout innings and looked mighty impressive in doing so.
Anthony "Moose" Musemeci started the game and pitched 4 solid innings giving up five and walking a bundle.  However, "Moose" pulled himself out of some tough jams with a couple of impressive strikeouts with men on base.
The Dodgers are for real folks.

Anthony "Moose" Musumeci led the way at the plate with four singles and two runs scored.  Moose also played solid defense in left field and made an acrobatic catch to take away an extra-base hit and prevented at least two runs from being scored.
Matt Murray looked sound again in the field and at the plate.  Murray had a double and a couple of RBIs.
Matt Murphy made his impressive debut when he smashed a fastball off the left field fence and coasted into second for a double.  Murph also made a circus catch in the outfield.
Matt West also had a nice day at the plate and scored a couple of runs.  Matt's defense is fluent and precise.

Dodgers Struggle at the Plate and in the Field
The Dodgers began than 2008 season with a disappointing loss to the Devil Rays. The Dodgers out hit the Rays and were truly the better team, but the Rays had an impressive pitching outing by Bob Shaw. Shaw threw a complete game and struck out 23 batters. The Dodgers are looking forward to their home opener against the Phillies next week.

Looking for a W
The Cherry Hill Dodgers are a collection of skilled and dedicated ball players who haven't experienced the expected results of the preseason.  In NABA, players are known to fall off the face of the Earth if they aren't winning.  A team with a roster of 20 at the start of the season may dwindle to a team desperate for players after a couple of losses.  The players on the Dodgers have an uncanny desire to win. There is no doubt that the Dodger faithful will continue to play hard and work together.  Everyone on the team plays the game hard and plays to win.  This Sunday, a team hungry for victory will show-up to play and will play hard.  Lets Get a W Fellas!

Bats, Defense, and Pitching Come Together
Before the start of the season, it looked as though the Dodgers were going to be one of the teams to contend for the championship.  The collective group of players seemed to gel together starting on day one.  The Dodgers went into the season a little over confident and were handed five losses in the first six games.  Looking back on each game, the feeling weas the same: "We should have won that game!"  The Dodgers began lookig ahead and teams were looking at their record and not the talent on the team.  After the All-Star game in which the Dodger players represented the team well, the four guys came back and provided a spark.  The team started winning and slowly gained their confidence.
