The league is growing everyday with new teams and new players looking for teams.
I have the fields ready, the time and punk to get it going properly.

Waiver forms can be filled out at the field before you play the game.

First let me welcome all the teams back to the all new NABA28+ league!
This year we have 2 new teams that round out the schedule. We have the Winos returning, and also the Cardinals with new leader J. LaRosa in charge.
Both teams are doing well in the first few games.
I would at this time like to invite all teams from previous years to join up and play ball! I have the games and the time to devote to rebuilding this league.
The Drillers have shown an interest in returning, I hope that happens soon!!

Its Fathers day and I'm sure we all want to play ball and go home to celebrate the day with friends and families.
This season is a building block for next season. The teams next season will increase to 12 and the level of play can be raised to two different divisions.
Until that time, we will continue to play ball and do our best as teams.
We have some teams that are well developed over the last 5 years. They have stuck together and now reap the rewards from all their efforts.
New teams are still getting uniforms and developing as a team.

Ok guys, time for real business news.
I have managers trying to collect fees from players......all excuses as to why they can't pay are no longer valid or acceptable.
Ther reality is that I cannot support your playtime any longer. Pay your fees or move on and I'll replace you or the team as needed.
I hear all the whine about the schedule not being posted for the year. Guess what?
I need all teams to pay up or get out now.
This league is doing great. I will not allow a few people to drag me down and destroy it.
This next weekend I will be at all games. Have your checks ready or be ready to go home. Excuses are now over with.

With our season at the halfway point, I think we have all had a great season so far.
The new management (me) still has some rough edges to smooth out, but I'll get it right sooner or later.
Although most teams are now in compliance with fee payments, there are still some holdouts that have "reasons why theycannot pay".
Next season I will collect fees from teams before anyone ever touches the grass.

I have great news! Next season I will offer both Saturday and Sunday as game days.
Starting next season, I will also be in charge of the 18+ league. This will double the number of current players and improve the player pool for divisions.
This season has been a building block for the league as a whole. More games to "make up " for last season etc.
The league fees were very low when in compared to any other league.
With the current season at halfway mark, I see the final games ahead as the "real ball games".
New teams hve developed into challenges for any team. The older teams in the league seeing new faces on the field make it more interesting.

We have had great weather and acceptable fields each game due to the extra work by umpires on both fields. This extra work is well above what any other league would do for you.

Now that the season is coming to conclusion, I will gives stats and a remaining schedule. All teams are now in compliance and I thank all managers for their timeless efforts in making this season the best ever.
Listening to everyone this summer, I found no real issues other than rquests for a full schedule posting.
Some teams wanted more challenge, others less.
New umpires, better fields and no down time was a challenge for me. Acquiring the 18+ league on Saturday's doubled the league size and gave us a new player pool for the 28+ teams.
Over the last couple months I have had many people write to me, all with good intent. I responded to each email or phone call. Thank you for your input!
Keep an eye on this page and the new schedule will appear soon.

i would like to congratulate all teams on their season!
This season was the rebuild of NABA in Orange County. Your support and my leadership made this a welcomed season for all.

Our season is almost over now. 16 games in the past have shown all temas our growth and our need to rebuild in the upcoming season.
I watched as the Newest teams began to grow as a team. i saw the Cardinals come together and become a force in the league. The leadership of jonathan Larossa never ceased to amaze me.
Bruno of the Cannons was a pillar of strength as he developed his team until it was a force to wrecken with.
Who has something bad to say about Louis of the Dukes? He is a strong leader and has everyones respect.
I am so proud of all the teams that stuck with me in this rebuild.
I am humbled by the rewards of just doing the right thing for baseball.

Hello everyone.
With teams out of town and missing players due to tournament games out of state, our season comes to a close.
The championship game will be held on October 28th after the Dukes return from tournament games.
On the championship date I will hold a managers meeting to see who is playing Fall ball.
Next spring we will start the league much sooner so we don't run into tournament play.
I invite all managers to this meeting @1pm October 28th Fullerton.
Games will beging the following week.

Championship game between the Dukes and the Red Sox will be on October 26, 2008 @ Fullerton. Game time is 10am.
A managers meeting will be at 1pm immediately after the game to line up teams for the Fall league.

It gives me great pleasure to announce the combination of 18+ and the 28+ league.
The 18+ guys will still paly most games on Saturday, while the 28+ teams remain solid on Sunday's. |
Our first meeting for the Fall is on October 26th at Fullerton. 1 pm or close to it.
I will be in the parking structure behind the field.
After the championship game, the meeting will start. I will have contract packs if needed, and will begin to collect fees from teams.
Team fees this 10 game season are $1800 for a straight set of games.
You get 2 dozen baseballs. Umpire fees remain the same at $75 per team at the plate. Teams that pay their fee's will recieve 2 dozen baseballs at this time.
At this meeting I will supply each coach with a set of rules and regulations about the season.
Returning coaches need to know that all fee's must be in by the 2nd week of play. Anyone not in compliance will forfeit games until fee's are paid in full.

On Saturday the 18th of October, I will marry Carmen Martinez. Those of you who know me will understand and help me celebrate my new life.
My sincere thanks to all you guys who took the time to help me rebuild after Barbara passed away.
I am truly humbled by all the emails and handshakes I have recieved this first season.
Carmen loves baseball and looks forward to communicating with each team as Commissioner of the league.
Most of you have already met Carmen. She has a very friendly attitude and enjoys the guys on the field!
On the 26th I have the first managers meeting set.
The Championship game starts at 10am. between the Red Sox and the Dukes.
Due to their great season, a new bat from Juan Melendez was awarded to the manager. of the Dukes.
Maker of fine bats, Juan has supplied our teams with alot of quality bats at a great discount!
Also we will have many new players wnating to join teams. This might be a good time to pick up new players to round out your roster.
Never backing off and always supplying a team when needed, I felt a reward was due.
I will return from my short honeymoon on Thursday next week.

I had a meeting at Fullerton HS on the 26th and we started off to a good show of teams. Managers should call me and commit to the season ASAP. I know the tournaments are still going on, but I look forward to hearing from all the managers.
I have many players looking for teams.
Tomorrow I will post the managers and phone numbers for all interested players to petition any team they choose.
La Habra is rebuilding their Varsity field and the coaching staff wants us there for next year.
Fullerton is still ours and the new head coach and i are developing the field availability schedule for the Fall season.

Jonathan took a young team and led them to a successful season. Without Jonathan and his efforts, the Fall season would have had a different tune.

A new season creating new economy for NABA ? I have adjusted the fees to lower than last year.
In this past season I have offered 3 free player fees to help the players in need. My feelings haven't changed, but the new lower fees call for full participation in league fees. Late payments to play ball after the first 4 games will call for forfeiting the rest of your season. NO REFUNDS
In the past year I have heard it all about non payment. I only had one team that never fufilled the obligation, I allowed them to complete the season.
This is unfair to all other teams that paid the full price. enjoying the benefits of playing ball on Sundays.
I have donated 2 free custom bats to "managers of excellence" for their constant efforts to build confidence in their teams.

What can I say about two managers that always play the game?
These managers kept the team spirit alive.
When they had some issue, we resolved it and the team did not suffer from discussion.

The response so far for new teams and the Spring season has been great! Teams are calling each week and are coming back to join us.
Listening to all the other leagues, NABA is offering the same games at a huge discount!
With the help of National Headquarters, I have managed to grow and learn from past errors in communication.
In mid February I will hold a managers and new player meeting at Fullerton.
In the past years, few have shown up. I suggest everyone show up this season for new updates on the league and upcoming season.
Its a rough time in the neighborhood guys. Money is hard to come by, jobs being lost...
Baseball costs almost nothing to play for 16 games.
Its not as cold as a pitcher of beer, but its the same fun!

It has been a real pleasure to have so many calls and emails about NABA in Orange County. Each passing day I get new questions and the new teams that will make us grow in size and offer excellent challenge on the fields.
Al Delgado took over the Cardinals and will be carrying the torch next season as manager.
My thanks to Jonathan Larosa for all his efforts as manager. I hear that Jonathan will remain as a player next season........I like that!
The Drillers are coming back!!! Watch out to the big dogs on the field, they want your title!!
This new Spring season should have 12 teams and two divisions. Now, if I can get everyone signed up on time, we will have the best season ever!

FYI.......Spring fees are lower this year than last year!!!! I have set the new fees at $2800.00 per team.
Teams will recieve 3 dozen baseballs at the start of the season or the fullfillment of paying their fees. Its up to the team.
16 game schedule, then playoff round, then championship game to decide the winner.
Teams that have paid their fees for the season on itme will get the full season as written.
Teams that fall off and do not pay the proper fees will have less games and will not be elegible for championship playoffs or the big game.
At the managers meeting i will have everything in writing and pass out the paperwork for each team in attendance.
NABA wants online filing this year of all teams and players. i will update all of you on this process.
I will also have forms for each team and its players so i can send in the proper information to NABA as requested.

What a great day of ball in Fullerton!

Today at Fullerton I watched two great games.
The Angels pulled one out of the hat and took the win over the White Sox .
2nd game of the day saw New Cardinals manager Al the "Killer" Delgado take charge of 15 players and put on a show for everyone.
Batting all 15 players and allowing for many changes during the game plan, Al took control and supplied his team with encouragement and the managerial quality that has always been with him.
The smiles and genuine love for the game was more than adequate........
My sincere appreciation to everyone who showed up and played ball today.
This is where we go to relax and lose the stress of a hard week's work. Our team mates and friends are at the fields each week to root the teams on, to support the sport.
This was my day to enjoy being president of NABAOC.

After a vote, managers and players want to get started the weend of the 29th. Teams that have already made payments to me for the league fee's will be given first choice of game time and location.
This early start date allows our season to be ahead of every other league, allowing for the Fall league to start early and end before the hoilday season and the tournaments from NABA.
League fees are as I mentioned before.
$2750 for the 16 game season, playoff round, then
the championship game .
On top of the standard league fee's is a $100 forfeit bond that takes care of forfeits to the league. This fee is refundable at the end of the season if no forfeits come up in your play schedule.
It was also voted on to extend the player age to 26 years old and not allow them to be the pitcher or catcher.

I have most teams ready to go with a few holdouts that need another week between seasons. |
I have deposits from most teams now and am ready to post the full schedule for the season within a week or so. I am trying to make the schedule comfortable for everyone. I'm rotating the fields and the play time for the games as well.
The first game of this new season will be for loosening up and I'll call it a scrimmage game (9 innings).
This first game will not count in the standings or in the total number of games played.
I still need some managers to call me or email me with all the details concerning their team and available start date.
