The Bullfrogs begin to awaken from a long Winter nap to discover that that a few of the brave, the loyal, the committed, are now... please, brace yourself... BOMBERS!!!
As much of a bummer as that is, this year's 2009 team is going to be bigger & badder and maybe even less froggy.
When it comes to team-building, there are a couple approaches: one is to stack talent and to hope that sheer skill will persevere. But, as we've seen with a lot of teams in history, that often leads to constant internal combustion, mismanagement, fit-throwing, and distractions from what is otherwise a great game!
Another method of team-building is to put a group of guys together with a common goal. As we were witness to both of the championship teams of 2008 (the Demons and the Yankees), there was strong camaraderie, a team-ethic that extended beyond the egos of specific individuals, and it is no surprise that they were the ones in the championship game!
This year's Bullfrog team aspires to work as a cohesive unit and to implore the talents of the individuals towards the cause of the whole.
Having lost a few talented players, this concept may have a more infectious dynamic than would be in place had the entirity of the team stayed in-tact.
So, dust off your bats, oil up your gloves and get ready for an exciting season of Bullfrog (or maybe something different) Baseball!!!
