The NY/NJ White Sox defeat the Legion Lumberkings 5-3 to win the NABA Atlantic City Tournament!!! 

The NY/NJ White Sox opened the 2008 NABA Atlantic City Tournament with a 4-3 victory over the Irvington Cardinals in their only game on Saturday.  On Sunday, the Sox defeated Roberto Clemente 10-6 and the Westchester Cubs 20-11 to finish pool play at 3-0. 
 
With the #1 seed, the Sox took on the Tri-State Titans in the Semi-Finals.  With the Sox up 1-0 in the 8th, Antaun Barnett's 3 run Home Run sealed the deal and advanced the Sox to the Championship Game.  Jake Brooks was outstanding on the mound pitching a complete game, 9IP, allowing only 3 hits, 0 runs, 3 walks, and struck out 6.
 
In the Championship Game, the Sox took on the Legion Lumberkings.  Kyle Goldwater took the hill and dominated the Lumberkings after a shaky 1st inning.  The Sox struck first in the top of the first scoring 2 runs on an RBI FC by Jiminian, and RBI Single by Leyner.  The Lumberkings quickly tied the game in the bottom of the 1st on a 2 Run Home Run by Bass.  The Sox took advantage of an error and took a 3-2 lead in the 6th.  Gary Gottlob's RBI Single in the 7th gave the Sox a 4-2 lead, and a double steal in the 9th made it 5-2.  Things would then get interesting.  With 1 out, back to back singles but runners on 1st and 2nd.  After a groundout gave the Sox 2 outs, Goldwater would strike out Caballero.  But a passed ball would load the bases and bring up Bass, who homered earlier in the game.  Goldwater hit Bass to score a run, and put the tying run on 2nd base for cleanup hitter C. Dantuano.  Goldwater got Dantuano to groundout to 3rd ending the game and giving the Sox the Championship!!!
